All About Ethan

This week...Friday to be exact...my baby turns 2. I've been referring to him as a 2 year old for quite some time now, but it's becoming official this week. With life spinning so quickly around me right now, I want to make sure I take some time this week just to reflect on everything about Ethan and his impact on our lives.

The day before Ethan was born I had no clue what was in store for us. I had no prior experience with babies and could not for the life of me even so much as imagine what things would be like once he was present. Once he arrived though, things just clicked. And much to my surprise, love happened instantaneously just like everyone said it would.

It's funny for me now to even think back on those first few days, weeks and months...things seem so hazy.

Things seem so different now.

He has grown by leaps and bounds. The numerous changes that have taken place over these 2 short years are simply mind blowing. The fact that we are about to start over with baby number 2 is also a little mind blowing.

His personality is definitely coming out at this point. He is a strong willed, independent and determined little boy much like his mama. He may be an exact replica of his daddy on the outside, but his personality is 90% me. He got his friendly and adventurous side from his daddy for sure though.

Amidst all the 2 year old crazies, there is a soft sweet side to my baby. He loves to cuddle with us in "mama-dada room" in the mornings and snuggle with us on the couch when he is winding down. He says the sweetest little prayers before bedtime and the cutest little ones at dinner. He often tackles me to get cheek to cheek and even gives spontaneously gives out kisses and leg hugs.

He has bravely started school and has honestly loved every single minute. He looks forward to playing with friends and has a strong bond with his extended family. He is one lucky little boy to have so many people that love him and we are equally as lucky to watch him learn and grow.

I could not imagine life without this little man and I thoroughly look forward to seeing what year 3 has in store.
