A Note About My Husband...

I am notorious for giving my husband a hard time, almost as much as I give myself. I pick on him a lot and it’s not that I don’t love him, it’s actually for the exact opposite reason. I think it’s just that I know him almost like I know myself. I’m a perfectionist and feel like I need to nit pick everything until it’s perfect including myself and my husband. It’s a very annoying quality of mine. My husband is a truly wonderful person and I don’t think I express that enough on this blog. I guess I use my blog as a place to mostly vent and I think it’s about time I bring some happiness to this little corner of my life.

One of my favorite things he does is leave me little notes around the house. With his crazy schedule, we don’t really get a chance to see each other in the morning. He will often times leave me notes beside my purse just to let me know he loves me or to tell me everything will be okay. It brings a smile to my face every time. Normally it just happens to be on one of those days that I’m running incredibly late or have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. It’s amazing to me how he just knows the perfect time to leave them.

I save them all in my planner so I can look back at them one day. What does your other half do that makes you smile?

  1. My husband does that too! He will put sticky note on the bathroom mirror or on my lunch that is in the fridge! It always brightens my mornings! Also, when he knows I have had a bad day, and he gets home before me, he will greet me at the door with a glass or wine or suggest that we go to our favorite restaurant! We married wonderful men!

  2. It's so sweet that your husband does that!

My husband is not a note-leaver. But he does IM me and email me throughout the day and will call just to see how I'm doing. I appreciate all the communication and interest. It helps me to feel connected with him. :)

  3. that is so sweet! my hubby is thoughtful like that and he seems to do just when i need it. i love the little things he does. like the other day i was feeling blue and when he came home from work, he told me to close my eyes and stick out my hand. when i opened my eyes, he had placed a minature reece's cup in my hand (my favorite candy) and he said "sweets for my sweet."

  4. Aww.. I love it! It must be a *Michael* thing! My hubs does this for me, too. Only for the last five years we've stuck with post-its! (No pun intended!) He travels during the week for work, so I hide them in his luggage and before he leaves Monday mornings, he hides them throughout our house (the fridge, the DVD cabinet, my clogs for work!) Haha! Keeps me on my toes and is a wonderful reminder how much he means to me, while he's on the road! :)

  5. aww that really is sweet! I feel like I'm the same way you are! I pick at him so much. We actually just got done arguing/picking. I'd have to say one of the things he does to cheer me up, is that he's very good about bringing flowers when I least expect them! I love that I could honestly not get them on every holiday i'm supposed to, if I still got them randomly through the year!

  8. So completely adorable! And I am the same way...poor Pokey gets picked on NEVERENDINGLY! My favorite thing he does is when he comes over to my house and I answer the door, he yells out, "Special Delivery!" and gives me a big hug. Tee-hee.
