How would you describe me?

I am doing another one of Mama Kat's writing assignments. Click here to check her blog out - she does this every week! This time the prompt I choose was: "Ask a loved one to use 6 descriptive words to describe you and report your findings. How well do they know you?" So, of course I turned to my husband who came up with these six words.

Organized
I am pretty organized. I keep my whole life in my Franklin Covey planner that my stepsister gave to me one Christmas. It's pretty much my Bible, with all my vital info in it. I like to plan ahead and know exactly when things are going to happen. I would probably refer to myself more as a planner than organized though because sometimes I do tend to be messy. But I always have good intentions of being and staying organized if that counts.

Sarcastic
Guilty as charged. And I come by this honestly from my dad's side of the family. I guess I think it's funny, sometimes it's not though. Some people are not able to deal with my sarcasticness, but I think it's just because they can't handle the truth. As I've mentioned before, not everyone cares what I think so I do try to watch it.

Honest
Yep, he's got me there too. I'll admit to my faults even if sometimes it takes me a bit to see the light. I can not stand people who lie! It's ridiculous and no matter what, someone always finds out the truth so why do it. I think they do it to make life easier on themselves or to make their life seem more interesting - either way I can't stand it. You learn so much more from being honest.

Pragmatic
Ok so practicing my honesty here, I had to look this one up. Here is what was listed under synonyms: practical, realistic, hard-headed, sensible, matter of fact, no nonsense, down to earth. All of these apply - no further explanation needed.

Private
I do like my alone time. I like to live in my own thoughts sometimes without interruptions. I enjoy my reflection time and it's necessary for my well being. Thankfully my husband has learned sometimes it's just better to give me my space and I love him for that.

Authentic
I prefer genuine. I believe they pretty much mean the same thing but the word authentic seems like it's part of some marketing campaign. But yes, I am what I am. You get what you see!

He also included that he thought I was quick witted, intelligent, and beautiful. How very husbandy of him! And of course, I think that those descriptions fit me in his eyes - those are some of the reasons he married me right? As far as what others think about those descriptions...it really doesn't matter to me.

  1. Came over from MamaKat's. Your husband knew how to answer this question! I didn't even ask mine, although I am sure sarcastic would have made the top three!

  3. I love your list and I am in complete agreement with you on the honesty. I did that when I was younger and it's too much work and effort to try to remember all the convoluted tales and then you always get caught. Forgetaboutit. Honesty is way easier.

  4. Sounds like you have a pretty good husband. He came up with a great list. My sister called me stubborn. Haha.

  6. I keep my whole life in a planner too! All important things are highlighted, and there are shopping list post-its... ok, so I might be a little obsessive.
Anyway, I'm going to see if my boyfriend can find 6 words to describe me.
