Don't Want to Miss a Thing!

Pssss....Don't forget to enter the Shutterfly Holiday Card giveaway here!

This time of year is always such a fun time. The weather is wonderful, the landscape is beautiful, and there are always so many fun things to do. We had a super busy weekend this go around, and we had a ton of fun doing it.

Predators game...on the glass!

Looking at our calendar I realize that we don't really have a free weekend until after Thanksgiving and truth be told, I'm sure that between now and then our weekends will be booked until sometime after the New Year. Every single last thing on the calendar is some sort of fun activity or get together and I'm looking forward to doing it all....for the most part.

Cousin's wedding...obviously E is not into looking at the camera these days.

Part of me is always pushing for things to slow down just a little bit, while the other part of me really enjoys being booked with fun activities. Half of me is dying for a break, time to recoup, gather my thoughts, and have time to get things organized around the house again.

Having fun at Lucky Ladd Farms!

The other half? I couldn't imagine cutting anything out. I wouldn't know what to say no to if I tried. And if I did say no? I'm sure I'd come up with something for us to do on that free day. That half of me does not believe in sitting around and doing nothing on the weekends.

1st cousin love!

Really thought we were going to break this!
Poor E missed out on this one, mommy chickened out!

There are times when I get overwhelmed, when I say I don't want to get in the car again, when I say I just need some time to well...get my shit together!, but really....I only partially mean it. All of these activities are what make life worth living. There is so much to see and do and I don't want to be on my deathbed thinking, I should have done more stuff...

Meeting our 2nd cousin from MN for the second time!

Days like today remind me that we don't always know how long we have here on this Earth. I want to soak up every moment with my family and do every last activity. The house will get clean at some point, I'll find a moment to reorganize, but in the end...those aren't the important things!

  1. Good post! We have so much going on for the next couple of months it's overwhelming! But I want to soak up all of our time with the people who are visiting us or who we are going to visit, so if the house isn't clean or our meals are a little more simple, that's okay! :)

  4. Laura, you're so right! Even though I want to just rest sometimes, it's these activities that will mean the most in the end. And a Preds game?! Man I miss being in Nashville sometimes!
