Totally Avoiding the Real Task at Hand

I've gmail chatted, twittered, fb, texted, made phone calls and it was all to avoid what I really need to be doing today which is packing.

Packing for a glorious week long vacation.

Unfortunately, packing daunts me. I always over pack. Bring entirely too much stuff because I like to be over prepared.

When you have a baby though...and a teeny tiny corolla...you are forced to rethink things. Because let's face it. A stroller can take up my entire back trunk, not to mention suitcases, food, diapers, a pack and play.....aghhh. I feel the stress creeping up my neck.

So I'm going to do what I do best. I'm going to procrastinate. I'm going to blog instead. And since I don't even want to THINK about the task I should be doing....

I'm going to change the subject.

Book Review Time!!!

I mean how long has it been since I've done a book review? At least 5 months if not more because I don't think I've reviewed a single book I've read so far this year. And sadly, I haven't read that much.

Let's all take a moment to laugh at the fact that I described myself as an "avid" book reader in my about me section.

Ooops.

Oh well, about me's are dumb.

Since my attention span is next to nothing today...these will be quick and to the point. No back stories today...go to amazon and find out for yourself!

Water for Elephants: It was different as well as a quick and amazing read. Get it now before you see the movie! I hate when I read something that becomes a movie...makes it seem like I read it for that reason when really I read it solely because the book appealed to me. Oh well. I feel like when there's a movie...it cheapens it. Maybe that's just me though.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest: I loved this series as a whole. The last book wasn't my favorite which tends to be the norm for me when I read a series. It was a little too involved...too much to keep up with. There was a change of pace. But, with that said, read it.

Unbroken: This one turned out a little differently than I expected. I really enjoyed reading it though. It gives you a good idea of what it might be like to be a POW and the aftermath of that. I'd recommend this one too.

The Hangman's Daughter: I bet by now you are thinking I recommend everything I read. Well here's one I say SKIP! Oh goodness, I thought this drug on forever. I just couldn't get excited about it. Honestly, I read it because it was cheap on Kindle. Don't do it.

The Hunger Games Trilogy: Love! The first two went by really quickly. I, of course, wasn't as huge a fan of the last one, but I still enjoyed it. It didn't veer too far from the path of the first two. Awesome....and get it soon, because guess what.....there's going to be a movie.

I feel like there was something else I wanted to say today, but it has escaped me for now.

Oh yeah...

Twitter and FB people already know this but for those of you that don't follow me on either of those (and you should be) here is some news...

I chopped off my hair!!!

Major, life changing news...I know.

That's 8 inches gone in case you were wondering. Look at my profile pic for the before shot. I haven't had my hair this short since 2006...that's forever ago.

I'm going to end this post here, before it gets anymore ridiculous.

Now what?

I guess I'm going to go stare at my suitcases and my tiny car.

Anyone want to buy me an SUV....anyone????

Yeah, that's what I thought.
